Aaron Foster, MA, LAC, CRC, CRSS is RI’s Director of Recovery Practices/Director of Consulting and Education and, the Director of Education for RI’s Licensed Private Vocational School in Phoenix AZ. Mr. Foster is Certified Recovery Support Specialist (2011), a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (2014) and a Licensed Associate Counselor (2017). Aaron is an advocate for the inclusion of peers in the mental health services field and collaborates with institutions of higher education to develop research to support the workforce development of peer support roles. Mr. Foster is the co‐author of the competencies chapter for The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association’s textbook, Best Practices in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, 2nd Edition, and has assisted in the successful execution of two Psychiatric Rehabilitation courses offered at the University of Arizona. In his position as Recovery Services Administrator II at RI International, Mr. Foster developed and operationalized the RI Career Center which offers supported education and employment to individuals with co‐occurring challenges and, negotiated supporting contracts, with multiple agencies, for the delivery of these services. Aaron continues to consult nationally on the efficacy of Peer Support and Recovery Education in the American integrated health system.
